Hi! I'm Ron, from Ohio. I've been a book collector for quite some time. My main collecting focus has been on acquiring books published by the Modern Library. They are still around (part of Random House, although Random House used to be part of the Modern Library).

Favorite authors are Dickens and Wodehouse, and I am slowing going through the classics by actually READING what I collect.

At the request of several book seller friends, a fellow Modern Library collector and I started the Scribblemonger Book Exchange (a book selling marketplace where independent book sellers can list their inventory). We also run a couple of Modern Library collector websites.

Currently out of shelf space for new book acquisitions; but still buying despite that fact.

Welcome Ron H. I know what it's like to run out of space for boos. Had to break down and a Kindle to try out newer authors.

I'll have to check out your book exchange.

Thanks for the welcome!

There is something about having the actual book, especially with an entertaining dust jacket, that prevents me from going to ebooks. I'd even miss my bookmark. (And most of the titles I am reading are free downloads since they are so old.)

Belated welcome to both Grandma Aubbie and Ron.

My books have overflowed the shelf and have started a pile by the bookshelves. Yes, I have issues. :D

Welcome Mr Ronh. We are always glad to have a new person to talk about books to. As you can see we don't have space devoted specifically to Classic Literature, but I'm sure there would be many here that would love to discuss the classics with you. I just finished a book that is part fiction and part fact about Charolette Bronte so you may find me lurking among in the classic section the next time I'm in the book store.
