I have so many romance books/novels that I haven't read yet. My favorite Romance Author is Johanna Lindsey. Her characters both the male and the female always seem to make me feel like I am part of the story. I can picture what is happening to them. I love her Mallory Novels the most. I believe the first one I read was Gentle Rogue which happened to be the 3rd book in the series. I then went back and read them from the beginning and fell in love with them.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon...now that's real love! (the whole series is amazing)
I also love Linda Howard's early romances.

Vicki, who's Jill Barnett? And how does she do romance? I'm curious.

This thread is great! I was going to come here and ask for romantic recommendations, now I don't have to!
I used to love Judith McNaught, but had forgotten her in the last few years, thanks for the reminder.
A couple of my particular favorites have always been Shades of Twilight by Linda Howard and A Woman Without Lies by Elizabeth Lowell. In fact, both of those authors have some great love stories, although they seem to have both delved more into romantic suspense these days.
Some Luann Rice stories I just love, some not so much. I didn't like the one a while back that killed off a person who had been important through out two or three books.
The more I hear about this Outlander series, the more I think I HAVE to check it out. I had book one on hold at the library a few weeks ago, but I didn't get in to get it in time.

Oh, darkmatron, the Outlander books are completely addicting. They're another level of romance entirely. Absolutely wonderful. I think we've got a thread around here somewhere about her ... I'll look.
Ah, here it is right under Favorite Fiction authors. There's another thread for book 7, but don't look under that if you don't want to be spoiled.

i just finished The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons. OH MY! set in 1941 leningrad as the nazis began the seige of leningrad. this is Taitiana and Alexander's story. he met her sister first, and the sister things he is 'the one'. tania doesn't want to hurt her sister, and Alex has a 'friend' who claims tania as his own. the war is against them. starvation all around. they find love as they can, yet not able to show it openly. sacrificial love.
this is the most romantic book i have ever read, and the dialog is excellent. highly recommended!
